Fastweb launches the first VideoGallery, a service developed in collaboration with DyLogic
Milan 27th March 2003 - FastWeb, the leader operator in broad band communications in the six main Italian cities, launches the first VideoGallery: a gallery of video-dedications and video-portraits for all residential users who want to share their own recorded video-messages with other people, consult other's messages or simply vote the best messages.VideoGallery represents a real innovation in the fields of technology and entertainment: it offers to FastWeb users subscribed to the TV Visual Communication service the chance to record video-messages through a simple videocall to the VideoGallery number *4142 via TVcam or VideoPC software. They can also see videomessages throgh TVcam or MyFastPage as a normal website, vote them and answer privately or publicly to other video-messages. Every week all users are able to vote the most innovative, strange or amusing video. Based on the received votes, a real-time message chart is produced and the most voted messages are grouped in different categories. This new service has been developed in collaboration with DyLogic, an Italian company specialized in the development of software solutions and services in the telecommunications world. DyLogic has allowed the creation of a link between visual communication system over IP protocol and the Internet world. The innovative system developed for this service is based on a transcoding module that allows the visualization of audio/video streams in different formats. In this way web users are able to visualize easily on a web page the videomessages left by FastWeb visual communication users.
DyLogic had already collaborated with FastWeb for the development of other innovative projects, such as the implementation of "VideoPC", the software that allows FastWeb users to communicate trough the video by using their own PC and a webcam, and the "Video Answering Machine", which allows users to record a videomessage if the person called is not available.
The realization of the VideoGallery project for FastWeb allowed us to show the multifunctionality of DyLogic visual communication platform PSE (Parallel Stream Engine) and to offer to companies a new solution for their customers and their research of new communication ways", says Cristoforo Mione, one of DyLogic associates and Sales & Marketing Manager.
"DyLogic, whom we collaborated with in the development and implementation of different projects, is a strongly reliable partner in every aspect", affirms Stefano Parisse, FastWeb Commercial Director. "The new VideoGallery service developed in extremely short time, allows us to offer to our costumers a new entertainment channel for the exchange of videomessages by using a technologically advanced solution".
