Mirial UMTS from DyLogic enables direct PC to 3G handset calls
MILAN, March 8, 2006 - DyLogic today announced the international launch of Mirial UMTS, the first and only video softphone natively working on both Circuit Switch (3G UMTS, with H.324M) and Packet Switch (IP, with SIP or H.323) networks. With Mirial UMTS, a webcam, a 3G UMTS connect card and a PC it is possible to place and receive 3G videocalls from any 3G handset without any external 3G Gateway.
"We engineered Mirial UMTS leveraging on DyLogic's know-how on 3G and video softphones, and following the increasing demand for a cost-effective solution to exploit 3G videoconferencing." said Cristoforo Mione, Head of Sales for DyLogic. "Think for example at Mirial UMTS on a server to receive live 3G videocalls from a journalist or a reporter, and then broadcasting the video on a live TV show. Or consider the use of Mirial UMTS as an all-in-one roadwarrior solution, enabling videoconferencing on LAN, WiFi hotspot, GPRS or UMTS for businessmen, not to mention remote surveillance or many other possibilities".
With Mirial UMTS it is still possible to leverage on IP connectivity when available (e.g.: LAN, WiFi coverage, GPRS data connection or even UMTS data connection) using SIP or H.323 protocols. By sharing the same graphical user interface for all networks, the learning time for IP and 3G videoconferencing is greatly reduced.
Mirial UMTS is available from DyLogic and worldwide resellers in 5, 10 or 25 license packs.
